...and a Happy New Year! Print E-mail

Why not take the time as the year draws to a close to reflect on the year passed and be thankful. It is amazing how much richer experiences become with perspective. And let's also look forward with excited anticipation to what 2009 will bring. The bible is full of stories of peoples lives being renewed as they are given new beginnings. Take time to talk to God and set some goals for 2009 and if you need to make some changes... then seize the day!

Sunday 5.30pm evening services will take a break over the holiday period and resume again on the 18th of January2009.

Flame trees are native to Australia, perhaps we should adopt these as our Christmas tree...

G'day there,

Here's a quick look at what's happening at Cornerstone in the next few weeks. If you have not been to this website before, you'll find a basic intro if you scroll down.

Christmas Family Night at Cornerstone. Sunday night 21st December is going to be a lot of fun. You’ll experience the Christmas story like never before, enacted by some of the world finest puppets. They will bring it to life all over again.. . And there’s a sausage sizzle too… so bring your friends and your friends' children..., and get into the festive mood… Ah Christmas! Thank you Jesus! Without you we wouldn’t have Christmas… profound eh… That's 5pm. for Sausage sizzle, 21st Dec.

On Christmas Day, we'll meet for an hour of simple worship and reflection on the message of Christmas. Once again this is a great time to bring family and friends. 9.00am start

The ladies of Kaleidoscope (our women's group) have made a great recipe book filled with yummy food for you to create, we’ll be selling them next week for $5.50, or two for $10 to raise funds for our new kitchen! So be sure to pick a copy up for a friend, family member and you this Christmas.

Thankyou for your support of the ‘Miracle Offering’ in 2008. The goal with $55,000 which we have reached and exceeded! Thankyou for your generosity and thankyou God for your provision! What a reason to celebrate!

charles_for_website.jpgCornerstone’s first ARTS NIGHT was really really good. We had live bands, amazing photography, inspiring and original canvas work, sculpture, professional short-movies and a splendid café running throughout the night. THANK YOU for the those who helped out and were the hands and feet of God in reaching out to our local community – we had lots of new faces and lots of positive feedback. We're doing it again in July 2009

See you soon,

Pastor Charles Newington

Cornerstone Christian Church is a community for all ages and stages in life. We're  between 200 and 300 people, and a good mix of young and old, married and single, etc.

We meet every Sunday at 81 Mina Parade in Alderley at 9.30am and 5.30pm.

9.30am works for most people. Its more family friendly,  with activities for pre-school and primary school aged children. People generally stay around afterwards and chat over coffee, which is a good time to connect and make friends.

5.30pm is run by younger leaders and has a much more laid back feel to it. It still engages with the big issues though.

Smaller groups. We get together in smaller groups and do a whole range of different things because we think of Cornerstone, more as a community like a big family. It takes time to build trust and feel like you are really part of it, but it's worth it.

We identify with the Australian Christian Churches (ACC, previously known as the Assemblies of God) and you can read more about the ACC by clicking on: Australian Christian Churches.

Feel free to contact us if there is anything you would like to know more about. We always welcome visitors, so please come some time soon. Here are special events happening soon and this weeks video news:
